Crash Reduction Fortnight

Three Southern Tasmanian councils have united in a campaign to help reduce the road toll.

The Crash Reduction Fortnight project launched Monday 18th May, 2009 is the first major initiative to be undertaken by the Road Safety South partnership between the Hobart City, Huon Valley and Kingborough Councils and the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources.

Road safety is everyone’s responsibility – please take care when driving.

Road Safety South:

Road Safety South is a joint initiative of the Hobart, Huon Valley and Kingborough Councils with support from the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources (DIER) Community Road Safety Partnership (CRSP) program.

Road Safety South aims to;

  • Identify road safety issues, pursue and review road safety strategies that can be adopted by Road Safety South
  • Facilitate community planning, development and implementation of road safety programs and promotions.
  • Undertake district-wide road safety programs targeting high risk behaviours such as speeding  and drink driving
  • Encourage and promote to all road users the safer use of roads.
