Speed limits were designed for ideal driving conditions, but conditions and circumstances are rarely ideal.

Traffic, weather and road conditions may vary depending on the time of day or time of year.  High traffic volumes, parked cars or animals on the road; rain, frost, ice, fog or even bright sun; sharp curves, steep descents, loose gravel or even oil on the road.

There are times when it’s simply not safe to drive at the limit.

Please reduce your speed to suit the conditions.
